The building at 6000 Phinney Ave. N. is impossible to miss right now. It's painted a loud blue and topped with a new pole sign, and it serves sourdough pizza seven days a week. "We painted a giant building blue," a Stevie's Famous co-owner told KING 5. "I've never had a pole sign, so that feels like we've really made it."
A year ago this was Zeek's. Up and down Phinney and Greenwood, most of what's new in 2026 is opening the same way, in rooms the neighborhood already knew. Four handoffs are in motion along the ridge. Line them up and the timing follows a clear rule: the more that had to change, the longer the corner stayed quiet.
Four corners, four timelines
| Address | Was | Now | Time between |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6726 Greenwood Ave. N. | Autumn | G.H. Pasta & Pizza | About three weeks, as planned |
| 6000 Phinney Ave. N. | Zeek's Pizza | Stevie's Famous | About ten months |
| 6822 Greenwood Ave. N. | Oliver's Twist | The Silver & Gold | About two years so far, no opening date yet |
| 59th & Phinney | A la Mode Pies | A la Mode Pies, again | About three and a half years, targeting January 2027 |
The gaps come straight from local reporting. Autumn's last service was set for January 17, 2026, and its replacement was due the first week of February. Zeek's closed around October 2025, according to PhinneyWood, the Phinney Neighborhood Association's blog, and Stevie's held its grand opening August 2, 2026. Oliver's Twist has been closed since roughly fall 2024. A la Mode served its last slice on the corner in August 2023.
The fastest handoff only changed the menu. The slowest needed a new building first.
Same team, new menu: Autumn becomes G.H.
The quickest change on the ridge kept the same chef. Brian Clevenger, the restaurateur behind the General Harvest group, announced that Autumn would become G.H. Pasta & Pizza. He kept the pastas people already ordered and added a long list of pizzas, approachable prices and features for families.
"Right now, Seattle diners are looking for places that feel both special and accessible," Clevenger said in the PhinneyWood announcement.
The announced layout explains why it could turn over so fast. There are 38 seats inside, a kids' space, several TVs and a seasonal patio for 16. The bar has four taps of Washington beer plus cocktails and Italian wines. The 12-inch pizzas come with rotating specials. Announced hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Happy hour runs from 4 to 5 p.m. and again during the last hour of service. Nobody had to find a new tenant, sign a new lease or bring in a new owner. The kitchen just started cooking something else.
New tenant, same building: Stevie's takes the blue corner
The Zeek's handoff took longer because a different business had to move in. Stevie's Famous started in Burien and expanded to Beacon Hill. The Phinney Ridge restaurant is its first location north of downtown and its largest so far, according to PhinneyWood.
The extra room matters to the whole company. The co-owner told KING 5 that dough for every Stevie's location is now made in this building, fermented from a sourdough culture fed every day and made with Washington grains. He also called Phinney "our busiest location today." The menu is short on purpose. There are seven main pizzas, including the cheese, pepperoni and Copa pies. Ask to make any of them a "Normie" and it comes with burrata, hot honey and grated Grana.
Ask a food writer what not to skip and you'll likely hear about the ice cream. Eater Seattle's October 2026 Heatmap points to the "dense, custardy ice cream." It also describes the room as having vintage pinball machines, a large covered patio and enough space for a live band. Seattle Met calls the pistachio the restaurant's "sleeper specialty" and the place "a shoo-in for post-Zoo meals." It opens daily at 11 a.m.
New owners, inherited memories: Oliver's Twist becomes The Silver & Gold
The new owners at 6822 Greenwood inherited a bar with a long history. Seattle Met describes Oliver's Twist as an early player in Seattle's craft cocktail scene that lasted nearly two decades. The room stayed dark for almost two years before Katy and Bryce, who live in the neighborhood, took it on to open a cocktail bar called The Silver & Gold.
Before renovating, they opened the doors one more time for a garage sale and "last look." Neighbors bought pieces of the old bar, and the day raised $3,000 for Northwest Harvest, with every dollar of proceeds donated. PhinneyWood's account says visitors shared stories of first dates, engagements and anniversaries, and plenty of memories of the truffle popcorn. The bar's original owners and several of its first staff members came back that day too. The new owners said they came away with "an even stronger sense of responsibility to provide a vibrant and friendly place for the community to gather."
That September 12 report still described The Silver & Gold as upcoming and gave no opening date. The owners pointed readers to their Instagram, @thesilverandgoldphinney, for updates.
A new building, the same baker: A la Mode comes back to its corner
The longest wait on the ridge belongs to the one business coming back to its own address. A la Mode Pies opened at 59th and Phinney in 2011. It closed in 2023 after Homestead Community Land Trust redeveloped the property. The new café is being built on the ground floor of the Woodland View Apartments, on the exact spot where the pie shop started. According to PhinneyWood, owner Chris Porter, known as the Pie Guy, started planning the return two years before the original shop closed.
"My dream of owning the best pie shop in Seattle was baked on that corner," Porter told the blog. Seattle's permitting process and some unexpected setbacks pushed the planned opening from November 2026 to January 2027.
A la Mode is selling pie before the café opens. Porter plans to sell handmade pies on the corner during Thanksgiving week, even though the café won't be open for regular business. Pre-orders from the Thanksgiving menu opened October 1 on the A la Mode website. He's paying for the café himself and says this year's holiday pie sales are "doing double duty." In September, part of the sales of its Wild BEARy pie went to the care of Fern and Juniper, Woodland Park Zoo's two brown bears.
The dates still ahead
Two of the four corners are open now. The other two have the following dates, plus one still unannounced:
- Saturday, October 17. A la Mode and Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery host two Thanksgiving pie-and-beer tastings in the brewery's Aviator Alcove, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Each session has 16 seats at $50, and guests get the first taste of four new pies joining the Thanksgiving menu.
- Thanksgiving week. A la Mode pies will be sold on the corner at 59th and Phinney, with pre-orders open now.
- January 2027. The A la Mode café's target opening. PhinneyWood says it will be the first to announce the grand opening date.
- To be announced. The Silver & Gold at 6822 Greenwood Ave. N.
